Neil Oakley – Profile
Throughout my life, I have always been involved in sports. Over the years I have participated to a high standard in a variety of sports from running, football, rugby and martial arts. With this passion that I have for sport and my own personal fascination with the wonders of the Human body, I decided to change my working career and combine these two elements and to become a Sport Masseuse.
Over the last few years, I have studied to gain Diploma’s in Anatomy & Physiology, Holistic Massage and Sport Massage. With my skills and knowledge gained through these diplomas and my sporting experiences, I can help you with your sporting injuries.
A detailed consultation with be performed to gain the vital information to identify the possible cause of your injury – for example muscles problem could = tightness, strain, weakness, compensating.
A personal treatment plan with be developed for you to gain recovery to enable you to be active again before you sustained your injury.
A detail aftercare plan will also be given to you to aid your recover time. If relevant to your injury, this will include stretches, strengthening exercises and further education to reduce the chances of further injuries developing or returning.
My personal aim is always to care for you and your rehabilitation back to fitness by identifing your injury, treat it, educate you for injury prevention so that you are then back as soon as possible to participate in your chosen sporting activity.
Even if you do not have a injury, Sport massage is excellent for pre-events such as running or cycling by warming your muscles ready for the event ahead. Post event sport massage is just as important as this benefics muscle relaxion and the removal of waste productsfrom your muscles which can cause muscle tightness.
